Here is my trusty Cuisinart food processor which I purchased at a wholesale club in the 1980’s (along with my professional stand mixer). It has served right beside me in the kitchen all of these years!
PRO TIP: When using your food processor fitted with the steel blade for chopping vegetables or ingredients which will produce a wet or mushy consistency, do not over-fill the processor’s work bowl or the food on the bottom will be pulverized and the food toward the top will still be very chunky. Instead, work in batches.

Use for grating, chopping, slicing, julienne, and fine grinding. Use the top with the feed tube when using grating/slicing discs, and use the flat top with the steel blade for chopping (it is much easier to clean-up!).
I have grated parmesan cheese, shredded other cheeses, grated carrots, cabbage and other vegetables. Some of my favorite recipes to make in the food processor:
- Olive tapenade
- Hummus
- Roasted eggplant spread
- Fresh Parmesan cheese
