Ever since discovering the joys of baking bacon in the oven, I have rarely used a skillet again! I prefer to use a thick sliced smoked bacon product.
METHOD:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or foil) and lay your thick sliced bacon flat, side by side. I also like to roll the bacon like a corkscrew (lengthwise, like a barber pole) and lay each roll of bacon side by side on the sheet pan. Be mindful to leave a small separation between each piece of bacon; pieces touching each other will stick together.
Bake in a 350 degree oven about 30 minutes, until desired crispness. Baking times vary on the thickness of the bacon. Remove to a paper towel to drain, and the bacon will crisp-up. You could also use a rack on the sheet pan, which will allow the bacon to drain as it cooks.
